BOOTS & KIT 'RECYCLING' - CHECK WITH US BEFORE BUYING!

A note to remind you of our "boot exchange" programme. Kids grow quickly, they outgrow their boots. We try to make it easier by encouraging parents to hand in any boots that the kids have outgrown and then to see if there is a pair in the pool that they can swap them for - don't buy a pair without checking with us first..... don't forget to hand them in too! ALSO - rugby strips.....we're always looking for small strips, particularly for the new tinies.

Our website
We're rugby people, not web people. We've put the site together ourselves to provide basic info & details for Mums & Dads, Guardians, Carers of our Minis & Midis sections. It's not perfect, but it does the job. We endeavour to keep the basic info up to date and we like trying to make it look better .... so it's possible its look will change over the next week or two .. before "settling down" for the season.

If you have any info you want to see on the site email Stephen Running with your suggestions and we'll see what we can do.

A word about
CarthaCakes @ The Glasgow city 7s

Well done to all those who contributed both baking donations and their time on the day to make the CARTHACAKES stall at the Glasgow City 7s such a big success. The effort was greatly appreciated by players coaches, --the REFS & by many members of Cartha Queen's Park 'Senior Section' ( & 'Very Senior').

The money is still being counted but takings were in excess of £300, which for something that was perhaps organised in a litte bit of a rush was fantastic. Next year, we'll have lots more time to prepare, but the feedback from all and for all involved is very definitely "Well done".

A NOTE ON THE WAY WE COMMUNICATE

With over 100 kids in the Minis section, phoning & even texting everyone is almost impossible. As such we have a "Comms Strategy" which goes as follows

1. WEBSITE (HERE)
Weekly happenings
are posted on frontpage of website & updated...even on a Sunday morning, if need be.

2. Emails
- we send emails each week, confirming what is on the website. With kids joining at different times of the year, email groups can be hard to keep up to date, so if you're not getting one, email me using minisconvenor@carthakids.com with your name, your kids name and Primary group & it will be added.

3. The CarthaKidsRugby Facebook Page
we have a facebook page and many of us visit daily...Game day plans, changes, lift requests etc - FB provides a very quick way of getting inof out. I'd urge you to join

4. Twitter
Instant way of getting info out - I tweet under the name @Carthakids - usually all about rugby so follow and instant updates will appear.

"Parents Handbook'

Our Parents'
handbook can be downloaded here, with info on CarthaKids and some useful suggestions on how to prepare and get your child ready for rugby on Sundays at Cartha.

Big thanks to Brodie for a great job well done!
